Iscorblack / Coal Tar Paint is the same as Provonite
ABE Provonite is a multi-purpose, paint-on solvent-borne coal tar black protective coating that retards the rusting of metal and the degradation of wood. After decades on the market, it is still unsurpassed for protecting structural steel, water tank and fences from the sun, wind, and rain. However, being solvent-based, it is not suitable for use on equipment in the food industry and must not come into contact with drinking water.
Provonite draws into and protects wood from the elements as well as wood-boring insects, bacteria, and fungi. It is economical, easy to apply and can simply be brushed on. Surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry, and sound. No primer is required, but at least two coats of Provonite should be applied. It should be stirred well beforehand and, thinned with xylol, if necessary. Coverage is about 6m dependent upon surface texture and porosity.
On steel, the coverage is higher than on wood, where it draws into the porous surface. Provonite, is available in 18, 5E and 258 containers and has a shelf-life of 12 months if kept in a cool, dry place in the original packaging. It is available only in black.
Cleaning
Clean mixing tools, brushes, and rollers after use and before material has set, using ABE super brush cleaner, followed by washing with soap and water.
